 The Ice Bear is Here

The new Olympia Ice Bear re-surfacer has arrived in Chester.  From all reports it is providing a quality ice surface.  Operators especially like the automated water flow for flooding which adjusts the amount of water laid down to the speed of the Ice Bear.

Remember When?

In 2008 the land at the East side of the parking lot housed a Scout Hall and Tea Room, shown below.  These two buildings were used by numerous community groups and organizations for many many years.

WARNING – BEAR IN THE RINK

Patrons of the Arena are cautioned about possible bear sightings in the Arena during the upcoming 2014-2015 season!

In an ongoing effort to “Go Green” the Park is purchasing an Olympia “Ice Bear” electric ice resurfacer to replace the nearly 20 year old propane powered Olympia ice resurfacer.  We are also purchasing an electric ice edger to replace the gasoline powered ice edger currently in use.

These purchases will not only reduce our reliance on propane/gasoline fuels but also reduce our greenhouse gas emissions and provide a healthier air quality in the rink.
